When God Sends the Harvest

And one of the things that I've learned is that, yes, we have to have this mindset and believe that people are ready to hear Jesus, and we have to have discernment, because there's some fruits that are ready to be picked and harvested and there's some that are not, and we have to be obedient to the Holy Spirit and discern that are not and we have to be obedient to the Holy Spirit and discern. 00:30 - Speaker 2Welcome to the Ignite with Barry Meguiar podcast, where Barry's book and passion for spreading God's love are guaranteed to ignite your life. Tell me some of your most recent experiences, some that I haven't heard before. 00:50 - Speaker 1Me and my friend were about to go to work, door knocking to sell some products, and right before we left, we said, hey, let's pray to the Lord to help us impact somebody right Before our day started. And I was, okay, let's do this. And so right before we went to a door knock and we would stop at Starbucks to get something to drink, and out of nowhere, this guy approaches us out of nowhere and he's like, hey, I overheard you guys' conversation. Are you guys Christian? And once again, we just prayed this prayer God use us today for your kingdom. 01:20And this guy approaches out of nowhere and we're like, yes, we actually are Christians. And out of nowhere, I kid you not. He starts bawling, crying hysterically, and we're like what's going on? And he's like I just lost my job, I lost my wife, she left me, everything's just going downhill and I heard you guys talking about God and church, and this is what I need in my life. And he starts bawling even more, crying and crying. Once again, people are watching us in Starbucks. And so we decide to pray for him, encourage him, lead him to Jesus. He was all happy about it and so I took him to church on Sunday. Church started at 830, but he was there at 7 o'clock. Oh my goodness, because he's like I need God, I need God. And the interesting thing about this, it wasn't that we went to go look for it. We asked the Lord to give us an opportunity and he came to us. And one of the things that I learned, a couple of things that I've learned, thank, you. 02:17 - Speaker 3This is great. This is great stuff. 02:19 - Speaker 1Yeah, one of things that we learn is this is that the harvest is ready. We know that. The scripture says it right. People are ready for the gospel, people are ready to hear about Jesus. They're hungry. We're in a pandemic, they're going through some stuff and more than ever they need to hear Jesus. But we have this lie of the enemy that says nobody wants to hear about Jesus, nobody cares. The reality is that most people do. We believe it, and what Bible says? 02:44 - Speaker 3is true. I think God's allowing all this to get our attention. He's getting our attention. Okay, if we weren't in chaos, we'd be doing business as usual and ignoring God, but right now he has everybody's attention. It's never been easier to talk about God loving them and giving the peace that only you and I have. 03:02 - Speaker 1Yeah, and it's understanding that there is a harvest out there and people are ready to hear Jesus. And the second thing is that the Bible says you know, pray to the Lord, the harvest. And one of the things that I've learned is that, yes, we have to have this mindset and believe that people are ready to hear Jesus, and we have to have discernment, because there's some fruits that are ready to be picked and harvested and there's some that are not, and we have to be obedient to the Holy Spirit and discern which is the fruit to be harvested and which is something that has to be weighed. Even Paul, God, redirected his path to a different direction because those people weren't ready, or whatever it is. So I think it is our job to, number one, believe that there's a harvest and people are ready. Number two, listen to the Holy Spirit to have him discern which situation to take. 03:45 - Speaker 3And like you said. I've heard you say before Move everybody every day, Move everybody, and sometimes you might lead them to Jesus sometimes not but even if you share Jesus and they don't get saved. You planted a seed or you watered them, you still moved them. You've advanced the cause. 03:55 - Speaker 1It's a team sport, it's a team effort right, yeah, and what I've learned is that God's already working in them. So this, usually people's response is like I've been praying about this, or I had this conversation, or somebody told me about God and you're just exposing it, you're just taking it out. And the third thing that I've learned is Luke 12, 12, that the Holy Spirit will give you the right words to say while you're standing there, and so sometimes we get so caught off like I don't know if I have the knowledge or the experience. You don't need it, you just need to be obedient. So understand that the harvest is ready Number two, be sensitive to the spirit. 04:26And number three, God will give you the right words to say there. 04:28 - Speaker 3So when we trust God, and he does every time, yeah. 04:31 - Speaker 1Every single time when you step out there. 04:33 - Speaker 3he gives you the words every time. 04:35 - Speaker 1Yeah, fail. 04:36 - Speaker 3Yeah, and what does that do for your faith? I mean, sometimes you even speak where it came from. 04:40 - Speaker 1oh, my gosh and you'll bring up verses that you're like I haven't. I didn't know, I knew this verse exactly and he uses you as amazing and powerful. 04:47 - Speaker 3That is fun. People don't know it's fun they don't understand that. 04:51 - Speaker 1Yeah, it is fun, it is amazing and and how he directs our steps. 04:54 - Speaker 3The steps of the righteous are directed of the Lord, but he also directs their steps oh, of course he divine encounters. He knew if he could get that guy into that Starbucks right at that moment, close enough to hear you pray right, Think all God had to do to orchestrate that encounter. 05:11 - Speaker 1Who did all the work? It was the Lord. He did the work. He did the work. We're just taking the harvest right. 05:18 - Speaker 3Love your heart. We've got to keep talking.
