One would think that he would be jealous of you, but there was absolutely none of it. Again, I feel like it's the favor of God, like even though in his eyes, right then, in their heat, he didn't want anything to do with Jesus. He told me, the Bible's been touched by too many hands. It's not something for me, and I would just say, okay, that's cool. And I really felt when that transition happened to be in a manager that I was just supposed to show. I wasn't supposed to talk. I was just supposed to show. Welcome to the Ignite with Barry Maguire Podcast, where Barry's book and passion for spreading God's love are guaranteed to ignite your life. Now listen in and prepare to have your life ignited. One day great to have these few moments with you. I love your heart from talking to you before returning the camera on. Yeah. You have this great story, but I particularly wanted to have you on to talk about this story because it so explains all the way through the whole story. It's such an amazing story. So just share that with us. Yeah, so when I turned 18, my dad at the time, well, my dad had gotten me a job at U-Haul. And I started out washing trucks at the bottom of the barrel. Didn't really enjoy it, but it paid, you know, what little bills I had then. And so about two years into that, I really made my mind up that I really wanted to do my best there. I only worked in detail for about four weeks and got moved into the parts department. And through about 10 years, I made my way through the entire shop, became a mechanic, didn't do any schooling, and our manager at the time retired. And the foreman that was there, and it was funny. He almost became like a stepdad to me. He was real intuitive and would just help me out on a lot of things. And he was next in line to just step into that position. And he actually was interviewed and told them that they should hire me for that position. And so just blown away a kid that came from no schooling, no background in any of this. And 10 years later, now I'm running two shops. Favorite God. Right. 100%. So, you know, I talked to him a lot, you know, through this. You know, I would try to pull stuff out of him and just share the love of Christ. One would think that he would be jealous of you. Right. Right. But there was absolutely none of it. And which, again, I feel like is the favorite God. Even though in his eyes right then and there, he didn't want anything to do with Jesus. He told me the Bible's been touched by too many hands. It's not something for me. And I would just say, okay, that's cool. And I really felt when that transition happened to be in a manager that I was just supposed to show. I wasn't supposed to talk. I was just supposed to show. And about three years into being the manager there, I had some stuff somebody saying I was still in money and some crazy stuff. But I was wrongfully terminated. And in that, I told them that they were, you know, they were in the process of firing me. I started to get angry. And then I just felt like God kind of pulled me back in the seat and said, I was able to honestly say with the heart of it's okay. You know, you guys don't have the last say in this. And this is happening because God's allowing it. And my foreman actually ended up taking me home to drop me off and bring the company truck back and everything. And this man, the church, yeah, so and he was just telling me like, this just isn't right. This isn't right. And I said, it's going to be all right. You know, because God's got it all in control. So it doesn't matter. Power. About six months later after I got let go, my mom was a receptionist there. And she she called me and said, you'll never guess what happened today. And I said, what? And she told me that he came in and told her that he gave his life and and heart to God. And it was so cool to be able to to look back. And I actually didn't even get this revelation till about two months ago that 13 years was for that moment. And and it was just it was it was really like, it was a powerful moment for me because I was able I was luckily able to see the end. You know, if my mom wasn't there, I would never would have found out. Exactly. And and and it would have been okay though, because if all if my 13 years there was to set a seed and and let God work on it and let God pull on his heart, which which if I would have probably tried to force it down his throat, it wouldn't happen. That's right. You can't force feed Christian. No, you can't do it. So I've come to the realization that my 13 years there was for that moment. That it's totally good. There's nothing compared to knowing that you have you played a role. I played a role. God used you to get somebody to spend the turn you have. Right. Yeah. That's it. Isn't that great? That's awesome. Thank you Nick. That's that's a that's a powerful story. Thank you. Pretty powerful story. God bless you. God bless you. Thank you.
