The Air Mattress That Changed Lives

There has been a time in my life when I was in need and God sent somebody to take care of me. And now he's sending me to take care of you. And then the questions start flowing and they start where do you go to church? You know I'm kind of excited about sharing my faith, but then I meet you and it's like whoa, I've got to get my act together here. You challenged me, love it. And it's great fun. We have a lot of fun. Give me a faith-sharing story right quick. Do you have a recent one, something that happened recently? 01:03 - Speaker 1Yes, just yesterday Okay good, that's recent enough. 01:06I go into Walmart the day before yesterday. I go into Walmart and I'm just walking my cart around looking around and this guy is standing there in Walmart and he's looking at this air mattress and he looks at it and he puts it back and he walks and he comes back. He looks at it again, he puts it back and he walks. He comes back again. He looks at a cheaper one, puts it back and walks. I could not get away from this guy. I walked up to the guy and I said hey, who you buying that air mattress? 01:33wow he said my son. He said my son is a drug addict and and and he, when he's not on the streets, he comes and he sleeps at my house on an air mattress and the last one I bought him it blew out and I just can't keep doing it. I can't afford it. 01:52 - Speaker 3Can't afford it, yeah. 01:53 - Speaker 1I said, brother, I can get you an air mattress. I can make it happen If you're willing to put your faith and walk away right now. Give me your phone number and if you can wait till Monday, I'll make sure that you get an air mattress. Can you wait that long? He said absolutely. He gave me his number, right there on the spot, gave me his number. 02:14 - Speaker 3Now see, he trusted you. How did he trust you? Because he saw you're genuine. 02:18 - Speaker 1Yep, something, there's a witness. That's a spiritual thing. 02:20 - Speaker 3You don't just give out your number. 02:21 - Speaker 1Who is this crazy lady? 02:23 - Speaker 3But he trusted that quick. Yes, he saw you were sincere. That's a Holy Spirit thing. 02:27 - Speaker 1And he opened up to me. 02:28 - Speaker 3And he opened up to you. There was a bonding, there was something supernatural going on there. He knew he could trust you that quickly, that quickly. He knew he could trust you Exactly and he gives you his number. 02:37 - Speaker 1And he gives me his number. Later yesterday I go get the air mattress. Sure enough, call him up. Hey, I got your air mattress. I can bring it to you tonight. By the time I'm able to bring this guy the air mattress, he gives me his address. Now, who does that? He gives me his address. It's dark outside and you're a scary person. I know I'm really intimidating and his address is in a pretty scary side of town. Really, a couple of my friends are a little scared and hey, Jenni, I don't know if you should do this. This is you know, are you? I said no, this is my people. God's got this. 03:11 - Speaker 3When you're on God's mission, you have guarded angels around. We do anyway, but particularly then you're in pretty safe ground Absolutely. 03:19 - Speaker 1So I go to the guy's house. He's sitting on the front porch waiting for me. 03:23 - Speaker 3And there you showed up, there I showed up. 03:25 - Speaker 1And he's just like. I cannot believe this is happening. His wife comes out to meet me. They open up, they start sharing. I didn't tell him about church. I didn't tell nothing With that. I just said I'll tell you something about my life. There has been a time in my life when I was in need and God sent somebody to take care of me. And now he's sending me to take care of you. And then the questions start flowing and they start where do you go to church? What are you about? They want to know. How can? 03:59you help our son, who is a drug addict. The doors, the doors open wide oh my gosh. He gives me his card and says if there is anything you need, I just made a friend for life. Yeah, Just made a friend for life. The relationship is there, now it's established. I, just God, opens doors and what propelled you to do that? 04:17 - Speaker 3What compelled you to do that? The love of God. Yeah, the love of God, the love of God manifested through you, manifested, materialized right there. 04:27 - Speaker 1It's not hard, Barry. You can spot a hungry soul from miles away. You can spot them, they're all around us. 04:35 - Speaker 3They're everywhere, and all you got to do is pay attention. And take time. Yeah, take time, and God always gives you the time back.
