The Most Adventurous Way to Live

I mean, I would just want to inspire people that they can share. They can share in any way, shape, form, capacity, and they should share. And you can do it in fashion. I mean, we're in a heavy, heavy business where people don't share. And so we stand out, and we want to stand out for the good. Welcome to the Ignite with Barry McGuire podcast. And when we were off camera, my wife had to come down and love on camera a little bit. And she was just, I wish we had it on air. I thought we should have recorded that. She's loving all your products and wearing all the scriptures all over her body and her purse and shoes and everything. And she's a raving fan. She really is a raving fan of yours. Thank you, Barry. And personally, and your company. I mean, you've lost us so much. Well, thank you. And Karen's a lovely woman. We're lucky to have her around, aren't we? Yeah. So if you folks, if you didn't catch the first portion of this podcast, I'd say stop and go back and get that one first, because you know a lot more about Cameron to begin with. We won't go over that again here now, but you're just getting warmed up. And you, I know you have so many things you'd like to share, and we only have this finite amount of time. So take off. What's on your heart that you'd really like to hear people share, understanding that we're here today. Well, I want... Let me just finish the bottom line, and I say it all the time, but we're here to ignite you, folks. It's Ignite America. That's the name of our ministry, and we're here. Our whole purpose is to ignite you to get off the bench and into the game and start having the time of your life. The world is lost. It's in turmoil, and the only hope... The only hope is God. And we're not going to, no matter how good our representatives treat us in Washington, that's not redemptive. We can get policies done. We can get all that done. But the problem is we've turned our back on God in America. For the last 60 years, we've basically stopped sharing our faith. And so we now have almost 90% of our population not churched, not knowing God, out of control, blinded by Satan, hating everybody and everything, breaking God's heart, and not knowing that God loves them as much as he loves us. And we need to remember that. He loves them as much as he loves us. So it's not for us to be angry at them. They're not evil. They're lost. And so the point being for all of us, regardless of what we do in our lives, if you're businessmen like Cameron and me, we have our businesses and we work hard for our businesses. But our businesses are our platform. He's blessed my business, but it's not because he likes shiny cars. I think he does. Cleanliness next to Godliness. There's something in there. But the fact of the matter is he's blessed my business while I've had it because he knows I've used my business as my platform, if you will, as my pulpit to share him. He's given me credibility through my business so that I have some influence. And that's not an influence that helps me other people think how wonderful I am. It's not about me. It's about him. Everything I have comes from every good thing in my business, in my life, everything that comes from him. And we give it back to him, folks, by taking the love that he gives us and allow it to overwhelm us and flow through us. And I say it's salvationing love. His love is about carrying us, bringing us, attracting us to him and to heaven. So his love is salvationing love. And he wants his salvation love to flow through us. Everybody we connect with, you realize everything you say, whatever you say, whatever you do, every moment of every day, you're moving people closer and further away from God. It's not just in the words of your mouth, but when the words of your mouth are confirmed by everything else you do in your life, your words have power. And I don't care if you mumble. I don't care if you can't quote scripture. It just comes out of you. It's genuine. It's real. It's the love of God. And Cameron's enjoying this in such a wonderful way. And I got to sit back a little bit. That's my pulpit. I'll get off my pulpit. I will listen to you, Cameron, because you have so many wonderful stories. Every time I'm with you, I'm so inspired by you. Well, I mean, but you said it, Barry. You're right. It's like we all have a platform. You're a business owner. I'm a business owner. We're also regular old people that just walk around this world. But I have a platform in my business with my wife. I want people to know and ignite them that you can share your testimony, which I believe is the strongest message. thing a person has is their testimony or testimonies, and you can share it through your business. You don't have to be silent in your business. You don't have to be silent at work. You don't have to be silent anywhere. And if someone shuts you down, so be it. That's what we're- Never be ashamed of the gospel. Every time we get up, pardon me for saying it, but I get opportunities to stand up and talk all the time. They're giving me opportunities to talk from stages and stuff. I would never stand up and talk without giving glory to God. Never. They may not want to invite me back again, but if I'm up and I have a pulpit, they've given me an opportunity to speak to people for three minutes. I'm going to say something about God. So if they like me, they're going to like me and understand they like me because I'm a Christian. That's God there. Yeah. You know, so we use every opportunity to proclaim his name again and actions and words and deeds and every opportunity gives us. And you and I have talked about that a bit and how much fun it is to do that without worrying about being rejected or anything else. It's just it's just living carefree. For him, for his love. I absolutely do not care about being rejected. Does it feel great? No, but I will be rejected for God, over God. I mean, for his glory, no problem. Yeah. Also, Christy and I are given the opportunity to do lots of interviews and medias and magazines and like, you know, the covers of magazines and they'll share our story. But I will not do it if they will not let us share our faith. There you go. Yeah. It doesn't matter. It's been CBS News. It's been local. It's been national. It doesn't matter. That is one of the prerequisites is, will you let me talk about my faith somewhere, somehow, some way? If it brings you glory, you're stealing glory from God. You know how to do that. Correct. And so that's, I mean, that's huge for us. And I just, I mean, I would just want to inspire people that they can share, they can share in any way, shape, form capacity, and they should share and you can do it in fashion. I mean, we're in a heavy, heavy business where people don't share and we, so we stand out and we want to stand out for the good and we do. We try. Yeah. This little, I love the song that we learned when we were kids. This little light of mine. We could be in the darkest world. This little light of mine sheds a lot of light in a dark room. And you and I both live in dark rooms. A lot of evil around us. And I want to tell you, Barry, we went through one of my stories from a few years ago where, you know, I was life and death cancer. And then about six to nine months later, I had a splenic infarct, which is essentially like a stroke. But instead of going to the brain, it goes to the spleen. And it's extremely rare. In fact, there's eight. According to the Mayo Clinic publications, there's eight identifiable cases of this, of what I went through unexpectedly in the world that they're aware of. So you really are special. Well, I don't know. I mean, I guess that's a matter of perspective. But out of these eight people, all eight. Their situation, their infart was discovered post-mortem. So they were not alive, essentially. And- They're a miracle. I mean, it's in black and white. It's published. It is what it is. I'm sure there's some other folks out there that might have gone through this and it might not have been caught or something. So I went through that after the cancer, which we didn't know if I'd survive. And then after the splenic infart, I went through an aneurysm. And the doctors at Mayo could not explain it. They called every super specialist in the world and they're not, I shouldn't say it. They called all their super specialist, Dr. Friends saying, how is this explainable? How it is? My aneurysm disappeared from the MRI, I guess a day or two before to when I went under the knife into the surgery and they had me cut open and they went in and the aneurysm was gone. And they came rushing out to my wife and said, what do you want us to do? What do you want us to do? And she said, well, it's gone. The aneurysm is gone. Like, they're like, yes, the size of a pin dot now. She said, seal them back up and get them out of there. And, you know, essentially that's what she said. Like, there's no surgery to be done. He's been healed. And this went on for months later. And, you know, we had Zoom calls with the doctors and the Zoom calls kept growing and the doctors kept bringing more and more people. Yeah. And my wife kept saying, it's a miracle. It's a miracle. It's a miracle. And the doctors said, well, it's scientifically unexplainable. We can't explain it. We just, there's no grounds for this. And then finally on the last Zoom call to all the doctors, he had all of his undersurgeons, his fellows. And he said, you know what, Ms. Star, what we have here, we have a miracle. And it was like a relief off Christy's. mind just to know that she was right all along. And it was a miracle. And it's not cancer, stroke, aneurysm. And it's just like, bang, bang, bang. I'm just getting nailed. And it's all okay. And you asked about my faith and what that did to me. I mean, sure, it shook me up a little bit, but it never took away my faith. It never sent me to a dark space. You know, we both know people, Christians, that are solid Christians, been in church all their lives, but know God, on their way to heaven. But you wonder what's going on when they have one bad thing after another, after another, after another, and all the way through, they're complaining and moaning and groaning and, poor me, and please pray for me. And all we hear from them is their problems. I mean, they're the worst possible testimony for God. And you wonder why it happens over and over and over again. And I look at it, God keeps trying to get their attention to come to him, and they just wallow in their own stuff. And James 1 makes it very clear. If you're not in pure faith, if you're double-minded in your faith, don't expect me to do anything for you. So people like that can pray all they want to, but God's not obligated to answer their prayers, but they're double-minded. We have a church that's double-minded right now. Big time. Complaining about everything. There's not joy. And they can't share that. They can't do what we do. They can't share the faith freely and have excitement about it. They can't do that when they're worrying half the time. God's not even answering their prayers. And Barry, we are racing. And I mean racing to the end. You know cars. We're racing to the end. No one knows the day, but we're racing there. I can guarantee you that. And God says today is the day of salvation. Not tomorrow. Not a week. Not a year. We don't know when the last day was. Now. And that being said, eternity is eternity. Where do you want to spend it? Do you want eternity with the Lord, or do you want eternity on the downside? Folks, do you hear that? I think that when you read what hell is like in the Bible, there's more words on it. There's more descriptions of hell than heaven. It's so horrible. But the worst part of hell to me is it never ends. Ever. Ever. It's forever. And we put it off and don't talk about it. In fact, preachers rarely even mention hell anymore. But it's actually rewards and punishment. We should know what the punishment is. That's an incentive to get us to go in the right way and go for the rewards. There's a lot of good reasons to get saved. And I would think that not going to hell would be one of them. Yeah. I was raised on what they call hell, fire, damnation. Preaching. It scared the hell out of me. I'm thankful for I was in legalism. I don't agree with legalism, but quite frankly, as a young kid, it stopped me. I didn't want to go to hell. It got me straight. But it's the grace of God. God, he gives you this free gift of eternal life, folks. But don't just be a hearer. Be a follower. Follow him on in. Let the Holy Spirit, let the love of God flow through you to those around you. And all of a sudden, your life comes back. It ignites your life. I wrote a book on it. It ignites your life. And the word of God becomes alive. And your prayer life becomes alive. And every day is an adventure. You want to have the time of your life for the rest of your life. Step into the world that Cameron and I are living in. And it's fun to have another businessman who's not really, as I mentioned earlier, he's not really my buddy or friend that we hang out with. I don't even know where you live, Cameron. I'm not sure where you even live, but we were at a trade show on several occasions and immediately found out we're face shares and started talking. And immediately we know we're part of the family. We're part of the family of God. We're going to heaven together. And the closeness that you and I share, even though we live in different parts of the country, is precious. It's precious, the friendship that we have. It's precious. And it's precious indeed. And clearly it's eternal. We will be brothers forever. So, and Barry, I did promise, and I can go on as long as you like, but I did promise you one surprise. Okay. And a rare, in a rare, Showing I'm here in Florida because you asked where I was. I am here in Florida on the beach. And I have the other co-founder of Rockwell Tharp here, Mrs. Christy Rockwell, who you know. And she's going to say hello to you and your audience. If you'll allow. This is precious. This is precious. Hey, there she is. Thank you so much for having Cameron on. And I just want to share the Bible verse that's on our zipper is 2 Corinthians 5-7. And it's where we walk by faith, not by sight. And so, you know, to all of your followers out there, I just know that it's faith in God that's gotten us through all of this. Yes. You exemplify that. You shout that message with your lives. Not by the sight of all the incredible stuff God's allowed you to go through for your glory, for his glory. Yes, it's all for his glory. For your good and his glory. And look at you guys, you're still standing. Yes, absolutely. And when Cameron was sharing that about his splenic artery aneurysm and infarct, and he was still under, when the surgeon came out that day, I was like, praise the Lord. Hallelujah. It's a miracle. It's a miracle. And all the doctors and nurses watching you, that's not the typical reaction. You know, they just said, we can't explain it. We can't explain it. And I was like, it's God. It's God. You know, because I always pray for, you know, God to be our shield, our covering. And that for us, our families, our business, our customers. So, Barry, I made the two biggest decisions of my life. Number one. was to accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. And I never, ever, ever have nor will regret that. And the second biggest decision was to marry this young lady here. And she has gotten me through a lot of this. Well, the greatest gift on earth is being given a godly wife that you can share life with and encourage each other and help each other through. Karen's my rock. And, you know, I have to say, because I love Karen, I talk about Karen all the time. Sure. Not. I just, everybody knows how much I love Karen because I love her. If we love God, if you love God, folks, you're going to tell people about him. You just are. You can't stop yourself. He loves me. I'm on my way to heaven. If you're not at that point yet, you may be on your way to heaven, but not the point of just being cognizant of almighty God loving you. And now that he has you, he wants to love everybody around you, through you. If you do that, it's over the top. Share, share, share. Share, share, share. We go all over the globe, all over the country. We go find places to share. We share. We want people to know. People don't know and they need to know. Before we leave, give me one spontaneous, unexpected faith-sharing opportunity. Not planned, but you just bumped into somebody you didn't know at the moment. It was a God orchestrated. You know what I'm talking about. God just makes it happen. And walk us through one of those. You got 100 of them. Give me one right quick. Okay, one that just quickly came to mind. We were in Cambodia. Cambodia. We were on one of our design trips. Something took us to Cambodia. We ran into this family at a Christian church in Cambodia, and we said, we want to help someone. Find us someone. Tell us someone who, and they had a brother-in-law or brother-in-law or something like this. We said, you bring them to us. You help us find them, and we're going to take them to hardship, hardship. I mean, they had major hardships. Yeah. And we said, we're taking him to an all expense paid grocery store trip. And we just took him in and said, anything you want, whatever you want, you get what you want. You fill up 10 buggies, you fill up one buggy, you fill up whatever you want. And I just think about this in my mind was they were out of the poor man's rice in Cambodia. They were sold out and they only had a fancier rice. And he, the husband, there was a young couple and their child and they were extremely rich. you know, desolate. And he was so embarrassed that I was buying the fancy rice. And we're talking maybe a dime, a kilo difference or something. We have so much. Stuff like that that we do around the world is eye-opening. Give us the one where you're at Starbucks or somebody just right around your home. Well, I can tell you when Cameron shared about our bracelets, the bracelets that we wear. We order these by the thousands. And we were in Houston all of March. And I tell you what, we gave out all thousand that we had. And, you know, it's amazing at the people that come up and when they're reaching in it, because it's in a little candy jar and it says free. And I always say to them, you know, let me share this with you. Do you know that Jesus came to earth? He died on the cross for your sins. He's buried in the tomb. He ascended into heaven and he will return again. Do you believe that? Do you know Jesus? in your heart. And so, I mean, just the past month in Houston, we gave out so many of those. And then that inspired other people who were maybe, there was a mom who they're coaching, her and her husband are helping coach the son's softball team. And she was like, can I order these? Can you help me order these? So, We can share them with the softball team. And when we had our brick and mortar store here in Florida, the same thing with someone who was playing in Atlanta with like the Atlanta Braves and they wanted to do it. So it's just planting the seed and inspiring others that we meet along the way. Pardon me for asking the question again, but let me ask it one more time. Something where people don't have your bracelet, they don't have your platform, you're just somebody on the street somewhere, and God provokes a conversation with you when you're looking around and you're aware and God directs you to somebody. Share one of those types of stories with us. Yeah. And those are, those are good because people are so afraid to talk now. They're on either side and you don't know what someone's motive is or whatever, but I'm trying to think of the last one that just out of the blue. They're there. There's lots of them. We're so in the public that I think that's one it's the kids. Yeah. Kids are craving this so much. And like Christy was mentioning, they see this little bubblegum thing. And you think, there's a thousand things for them to see. And they see one little thing. And Christy stops everything she's doing and starts to tell them about Jesus and salvation. It's just absolutely amazing. And then she says, do you believe this? and ask them directly, like to their eye to eye, do you believe this? And they have that opportunity, right? Then to say, no, ma'am, I don't understand. Or yes, ma'am, I do. Or, you know, whatever the case may be. And it's, it's absolutely amazing. And it's when we, at every opportunity we talk, we talk about this phrase and we mean it sincerely, move everybody. Oftentimes the church says, find somebody one today. Yeah. I don't agree with one. Wait a minute. But I mean, what's one? Right. I say, you know, out of all the people I got to meet today that are lost, I'm supposed to pick one? Just one? And if I pick that one, how do I know that's the right one? And if I find the right one at nine o'clock in the morning, am I off the clock the rest of the day? It's moved everyone. Yeah. Then we don't mess. It's the clerk. It's your wife in the morning. It's everybody you're with throughout the day. Make sure that your number one goal is, is more than just a transaction or a piece of information or a loving moment, but it's moving them closer to Jesus. Move everybody every day closer to Jesus. And then you're filled with stories every day and experiences that ignite your life, you know? And we all have these incredible stories all the time and that's what ignites your life. It makes you so joyful together. And the fact that you can do that together, you can celebrate together, These opportunities, it's a beautiful thing to see. It really is. Thank you so much. And yeah, it's like in our everyday lives, the one thing like being at Starbucks or being at a restaurant and someone's maybe not so happy or grumpy, those are the people that need Christ the most because we never know what someone else is walking through. That's right. And that's why sometimes I think our kindness God brought us across their path for a reason. Well, that's the Holy Spirit also helping us read people. And when he's doing that, it's a nudge. We call it the nudge. Right. God nudges us to go to people. And that's the Holy Spirit saying that person's in need. You need to go and love on them. Just love on them. Don't preach at them. Just love on them. And they'll so often open up. In fact, they'll always open up and share. And then God gives you a scripture or whatever to minister to them. That's what life's. all about. We're going to do that every day. It's just so much fun to be in that kind of relationship with that personal relationship. And we say, here's our, we have several phrases that ignite. One of them is, fall in the nudge and live in the fog. Follow the nudge, live in the fog. We know what the nudge is. You were just talking about it. You see that couple, they're downcast. And so God directed you over to them to live on them. That's a beautiful thing. When you follow the nudge, you live in the fog, or I would say you live in the promise of Romans 8, 28, where he says, If you live for my purpose, which is to seek and save the lost, of course, he said, when you love me and live for my purpose, everything works for good. Exactly. And so you're in the process when you're loving them, you know, you're going to have God continue to bless the broadest blessings on your life and give you more opportunities to impact more people. And every day just gets bigger and bigger. Until you're my age, you're up in your 80s and have more fun than we deserve. I can't believe how much fun we have every day because we do this every day. And folks, let me just finish. We're about out of time here. But you need to seriously consider this. It doesn't matter if you're selling clothing or car wax or a housewife or an athlete or a student or you're eight years old. If you love God, he wants to love everybody through you. This is your calling. It's only one thing he calls you to do. Love your neighbor as yourself. Live for my purpose to seek and save the Lord. That's his absolute calling for you. For you, it's for you because it ignites you more than them. In fact, they're secondary. Isaiah 43.10 says, I appoint you as my witness, thus saith the Lord. I appoint you as my witness so that you will believe. Because when you're just going through the motion, you're not sharing, you get bumped around in all kinds of problems, and you'll make it to heaven probably if you accept for the Lord, but not having fun and not influencing everybody else. But when you're doing this, you become the over-accomber. And every day is an adventure. Right. And it ignites your life. We actually have a book. You can go to Amazon.com, an Amazon bestseller, ignites your life. It does. People want to be able. Hundreds of people are coming back to us now and saying, oh, It delivers. My life is ignited. We have hundreds of reviews, five-star reviews on Amazon, and they all say the same thing. They're the only five-star. Every single one of them say, I never shared my faith before ever, and now I'm sharing my faith every day, and I'm having the time of my life. Yes. You need to get in on this, folks. Final word, you guys, I love you to death. I love your heart. I love your devotion to God. I love your testimony. I love the impact you've had on millions of lives. On millions of lives. At the end of the day, Barry, we're just two people trying. And we are believers and we do believe in Sharon. And we're so thankful of the Lord for our platform that he's given us. And I'm thankful that the platform he's given you to give to us. And thank you for inviting us to come on. What a privilege we have to represent God at this moment in time. Right now. He chose us. We could have been at any other time in the history of human mankind. But he put us here right now to represent him in these last days. I mean...
