(0:01 - 0:26)I didn't want to be there, but the Lord opened that door. And I tell you, because they took care of me, like you would not believe, but I had so many opportunities to talk to people because they were saying, you know, are you in pain? Are you okay? I say, no, sweetheart, I'm fine. And I began to look at all those people that put their lives on the line every day to come and take care of me.(0:27 - 0:46)Welcome to the Ignite with Barry Meguiar podcast, where Barry's book and passion for spreading God's love are guaranteed to ignite your life. Now listen in and prepare to have your life ignited. I just recently had open heart surgery.(0:47 - 1:20)I thought that I had indigestion and I worked in medicine over 40 something years, and I remembered a conference that I went to and they taught us about the differences between the heart attack for a woman versus a man. And one of the things was a woman thinks she's having indigestion. And I said, oh, and I was sitting in the bathroom and all of a sudden I felt something radiating on my left arm.(1:20 - 1:38)And I called out to my husband. Needless to say, almost one year ago, I went into the ER and had a heart attack while my husband went to the parking lot to park the car. It happened just that fast.(1:39 - 2:05)While I was in the hospital, I didn't want to be there, but the Lord opened that door and I tell you, I call the nurses that took care of me. I call them my little posse because they took care of me like you would not believe. But I had so many opportunities to talk to people because they were saying, you know, are you in pain? Are you okay? I say, no, sweetheart, I'm fine.(2:05 - 2:20)And I began to look at all those people that put their lives on the line every day to come and take care of me. And I began to tell them how grateful I was. Thank you for coming today.(2:21 - 2:29)I was able to talk to one of the techs. She was talking, so I was listening. And I think that's the thing too.(2:29 - 2:44)We've stopped listening to people because we're so self-absorbed with what's going on in our lives. And I was laying there, she was fixing to take some pressure off my lungs. And I had never had that procedure before.(2:44 - 2:50)And I told her, I said, you know, this is kind of scary. You're going to stick a needle in there. And she began to talk.(2:50 - 3:13)But in that conversation came out her depression and how she was feeling that God had forgotten about her. How many people think God has forgotten about you? But I'm here to tell you that every day you were on his mind. He thinks about you all day long.(3:15 - 3:34)Why do you say that? Because even in the midst of me being in the hospital, I could see the hand of God. I could see the kindness of the nurses. I could see the favor of God because I got extra grapes and I got extra pineapple.(3:34 - 3:44)And I got extra when they found out all the little things that I liked. When I would wake up, sometimes I'd have an extra pear. I'd have an extra apple.(3:44 - 3:48)And I lay there and I say, thank you, God. I see you. I see you.(3:49 - 4:05)But I'm firm in my belief that there is a heaven and there is a hell. And because of that, I want to help as many people. Won't it be a great day to see all these people that you've talked to about Jesus and they decide to go? Talking about a reunion.(4:06 - 4:21)Never mind the 20th year reunion for classes and high schools and college. That will be a great reunion. But all the times I go to the grocery, my husband, sometimes he's like, oh, there she goes.(4:24 - 4:39)I don't care whether it's in the vegetable department, the meat department, ice cream, doors opening, doesn't matter. Don't miss the opportunity to share your faith. If you enjoyed today's episode, let us know.(4:39 - 4:51)And don't forget to subscribe, rate and review to help us reach more listeners.
