Love in Action Every Day
Special guest Chrissy Sanchez-Cochran shares how simple acts of kindness—like bringing hot tea to a stressed postal worker—can move people closer to Jesus every day. “Start your day with prayer,” Chrissy says. “And don’t let opportunities pass you by.” Then with boldness, go and love others in His name!

Start your day with prayer. Say, Lord, open my eyes and how you want to use me. Show me the way you want me to go. And then when you have a little idea, even if it seems silly and you think they're going to reject you, you like, just do it. Consider it from the Lord. It's in love, it's kindness. And don't let opportunities pass you by. Welcome to the Ignite with Barry McGuire Podcast, where Barry's book and passion for spreading God's love are guaranteed to ignite your life. Now listen in and prepare to have your life ignited. I hear a Christy Sanchez conqueror and Christy, we were talking off camera. I love your passion. I love your passion. I mean, you love sharing your faith, don't you? I do. I do a lot. How about when you're out and about and it's just when you least expected, expected, right? Yeah, there was the post office lady. So she and this was like around our neighborhood. Yeah. And she was, you know, and it started to get pretty dark in the evening. And she was still loading up the mailboxes. And me and my kids were out for a little walk. And so just happily ending the day. And I could just see as we're walking by her, she was. Yeah, not too thrilled. And so when I walked by the high, good evening. How are you? How are you doing? Okay. Are you cold? Oh, no, I'm just really just tired. Okay. And so we kept walking and the Lord said she needs. Well, she needs just to know I'm loving on her. And so actually what we did, I said, you know what? It's kind of cold kids. Let's go get some hot tea. An idea from the Lord, some hot tea and just deliver it to her, right? And hopefully she'll accept it. But that, when we came back with the tea and I was like, I, you want herbal tea? Oh, right. How good must he? We just wanted to love on you and just, you know, show you that God loves you. Yeah. She had some tears in her eyes and she's like, I'm just, it's been a bad day. Yeah. Yeah. And there we had this little conversation about what her life was like. She were memorable throughout the rest of her life. And, you know, most people don't see Christians as loving. And so when we, it's not just giving the cup of cold water. Right. It's giving the cup of cold water in Jesus' name. Yeah. And they see that and all of a sudden it's like, that's a Christian. I didn't think Christians were loving. And here's a Christian that cared enough to go to all that work to bring me some hot tea into my hard day out here in the cold. Right. And at first I thought this was kind of silly. I'm like, this is kind of like a silly idea. She doesn't know me. No. What if she says no faith? That's sharing faith. Yeah. That's sharing faith. What we think of sharing faith is giving you down on their knees and getting the center's prayer. And we think we got to do that every time. That rarely happens. Yeah. Sharing your faith is moving everybody every day close to Jesus and loving on everybody. Yeah. And when they see that love is authentic and they know it's from God, you've just moved in closer to Jesus. And you don't know where you were in that progression of her life of 14 or 15 or 20 people. But you were definitely one of those. Yeah. And you moved your closer to Jesus by your love. Yeah. Essential act of kindness in Jesus' name, right? Yeah. Absolutely. That's pretty cool. What would you say to somebody? It's not thought about on a personal basis being making a difference in people's lives. What would you say? I would say number one, start your day with prayer. Say, Lord, open my eyes and how you want to use me. Show me the way you want me to go. And then when you have a little idea, even if it seems silly and you think they're going to reject you, you just do it. Consider it from the Lord. It's love, it's kindness. And don't let opportunities pass you by. Because we know for every one time we thought I should love on the stranger or text this person or whatever, there's probably so many where we said, someone else will help that person. They're all around us. Right or I don't want to seem silly. When you realize that 90% of people around us are lost. Yeah. And he says, love them all as your neighbor. I mean, we have responsibility. Yeah. Our responsibility to get as many people into heaven as possible before the Lord returns. Absolutely. That is not just our number one colleague. That is our life right from this day forward. Yeah, because there's a lot at stake. That's the thing. If you realize how much is at stake here, then you're moved. You can't help it. It's a team sport. You helped that postal lady. Did you lead the Lord? No, you didn't. But you moved her closer to Jesus. I'll tell you. And God will bring other people. Yeah. And when she sees me now, there's been times where she's just like, would you make praying for me? Oh, wow. Wow. Exactly. And so we've got to be, I think, really excited to be utterly amazed with how God is moving. Yeah. And the grocery store on the sidewalks in our own personal circle of friends and family. Yeah. Because he will. Yeah. And the joy of the Lord is all over you. Oh, thank you. And your busy mom, you have a busy life, you know. But your number one calling is let that light shine and move air by every day. Absolutely. You're doing that so well. Thank you. Thank you for joining us. You're welcome.
