00:00 - Speaker 1I don't want nothing to do with God, man. I'm so sick and tired of hearing people say that Jesus loves me. I walked up to him and I said but you know that he does, because if you didn't know that, you wouldn't be crying right now, that you would have no emotion toward but you know that he's real. I said so right now, in this moment. You need to recommit yourself to God and I'm going to do it with you. 00:24 - Speaker 2You need to recommit yourself to God and I'm going to do it with you. Welcome to the Ignite with Barry Meguiar podcast, where Barry's book and passion for spreading God's love are guaranteed to ignite your life. Now listen in and prepare to have your life ignited. 00:40 - Speaker 1There was a time that I was in the grocery store and I was at a point in my life where I was in between jobs and I didn't have a lot of money and I was kind of struggling. And I walked into a store and there was these kids that were trying to find money to buy a couple of Gatorades. They didn't have a lot of money on them and I did. I had like five bucks. And so what I did is I offered to pay for their Gatorades. And they were, I say, kids. They were only a couple of years younger than I was. And one of them looked at me and said my dad says I don't take handouts from anybody. And I said this isn't a handout man, I'm just trying to buy you a Gatorade. It's hot outside. He goes why are you doing this? And I said because Jesus loves you, he loves me, he gave our life, his life for us, and because of that reason and I it came out of me so fast I am not the type of person that is. That's the first thing that I'm going to say, but I just went for it. I just said it that the reason I'm buying you a Gatorade is because Jesus loves you. He wanted absolutely nothing to do with it, but it was the person and the kid that was standing right behind him, tears streaming down his face, just from hearing the words that Jesus loved him. I said hey, bud, what's wrong? Man, I didn't mean to make you cry or anything like that. He goes. Nah. He said. My dad is a preacher and he I don't want nothing to do with God. Man, I'm so sick and tired of hearing people say that Jesus loves me. And I walked up to him and I said but you know that he does, because if you didn't know that, you wouldn't be crying right now, though you would have no emotion toward but you know that he's real. I said so right now, in this moment, you need to recommit yourself to God and I'm going to do it with you. And that cashier was like oh my gosh, what's going on? And this kid is crying and his buddy's like this is crazy. His buddy walks out of the store and me and that kid, we sat there and we sit with the sinner's prayer together. Never seen him since, but I do know that in that moment, when he looked up at me, that bitterness that I saw in his eyes wasn't there anymore. It was like for the very first time he had actually experienced the love of Jesus. First time he had actually experienced the love of Jesus. 03:09And really isn't that our goal as Christians even to other Christians that say they're Christians or might be going through the motions or may have been grown up in church, if we do not take on the great commission as a lifestyle to go ye, therefore, into all the world and preaching the gospel not preaching at people, but let your lifestyle be a sermon to people that the love of Jesus oozes out of every part of who we are. 03:37If he can hang on a cross and spill every drop of blood for us, if he can be bruised and broken and bloody and die on an old, rugged cross and he's buried for three days, but then on that third day, all of heaven erupted with praise as that stone rolls away and he walked out. He did that for us. And, to be honest with you, how dare I keep that type of good news to myself? How dare I be selfish with the joy and the peace and the rest that comes with knowing who Jesus is? Now you may be at work, you may be in a grocery store, you may just be driving down the road and you see the person in the car next to you who knows what's going to trigger you. But I promise you, if you will yield yourself to the Holy Spirit, those doors will open and all you have to do is walk through, and walk through in the love of Jesus and share the gospel. 04:41 - Speaker 2If you enjoyed today's episode, let us know, and don't forget to subscribe, rate and review to help us reach more listeners.
