(0:00 - 0:17)So what I do in the morning, I say, Lord, give me an opportunity. So I will put small packages of food or I'll put anything inside of my car that I think water on the ready, on the ready in case you meet somebody. And which I do on a regular basis when you meet somebody.(0:17 - 0:33)When I do, I'll just you know, I look for an opportunity. Yeah. And I'll say, you know, what's your story? Welcome to the Ignite with Barry Meguiar podcast, where Barry's book and passion for spreading God's love are guaranteed to ignite your life.(0:33 - 0:45)Now, listen in and prepare to have your life ignited. We're here with Bill Woods, Jr. And you talk to me. You're just off camera about I just love sharing my faith every day.(0:45 - 0:58)What does that look like? So it all started for me in Teen Challenge. They sent us to the streets. Yes.When Koreatown was burning during the trials. OK, yeah. If I can say Rodney King.(0:58 - 1:05)Yeah, of course. The trials. And they were bringing they were writing and people were bringing out TVs.(1:06 - 1:19)They were bringing out all these since gunshots everywhere was not scared at all. For some reason, I just I didn't care if I died or anything. I had a covering.I had a covering. Yeah. And the spirit of God came on me.(1:20 - 1:42)And I just started saying, you know, guys, God loves you. And my voice raised and I said, you know, if you were to die today, what would the Lord let you in? Yeah. Yeah. And for some reason, they an audience came to me and my friend Woody. He was of another color. And here was I. We walked right in with the boldness of God.(1:42 - 1:59)You say you like to share your faith every day. Let's decide in a vacuum of that. What is that? What does that look like for you when you're walking out on an average day and you're watching for opportunities? I look for the needs that people have, because I remember when I didn't have anything and I was homeless.(2:00 - 2:17)So what I do in the morning, I say, Lord, give me an opportunity. So I will put small packages of food or I'll put anything inside of my car that I think water on the ready, on the red in case you meet somebody. And which I do on a regular basis when you meet somebody.(2:17 - 2:32)And when I do, I'll just you know, I look for an opportunity. Yeah. And I'll say, you know, what's your story? Yeah. You know, so you have a purse, a particular eye for people that who shoes you walked in. Yeah. And I'll meet you need you.(2:32 - 2:46)You find somebody that's down. Maybe it's struggling with addictions, whatever, tattooed, whatever. And you.Right. And does everybody explain this right? It happens quite often. And you just look for that kind of that's that's your sweet spot.(2:46 - 2:54)That is my sweet spot. Wow. And so what do you do when you see a person like that? I meet their need and I just talk to them where they're at.(2:54 - 3:00)And I say, hey, can I help you with something? Yeah. And I will I'll meet their need. You love on them.I'll love on them. That's it. Yeah.(3:00 - 3:15)And it's happened from the high from the high of highs to the low of lows. I've been able to pray with senators, even senators. I've been able to pray with the homeless, the broken, the prostitutes.(3:15 - 3:24)It doesn't matter. And that's it doesn't matter. When you love on people, they don't have to be like you know, they just want your love.(3:24 - 3:32)They want love and they don't care who's given the love. It really doesn't matter what we look like. I'm sharing most of the time with people who don't look like me.(3:33 - 3:51)And it almost makes the love more powerful, because why are you loving on me? They don't understand it. It interrupts their lives, right? It does interrupt their life sometimes. I'm like, why are you doing this? But if you show it, can you give an example? Can you give I mean, you've got hundreds of them.(3:51 - 4:07)Can you give an example of what that looks like? Got to or something that happened recently or something that you just think of. Here's here's an example of what that would look like. There's a gentleman the other day walking across the parking lot and he was screaming, just screaming out of his head.(4:08 - 4:31)And I was thinking, what can I do? And the religious part wanted to just go do something, you know, pray over him. But instead, I just walked to him, said, hey, can I know your name? And he stopped screaming. He said, I'm done, Hector.Wow. And I said, are you hungry? He said, I am. Walked him over, got him a burger, sat down and we ate.(4:31 - 4:35)You loved on him. I'm sorry. We can all love on people.(4:36 - 4:46)Nothing. It's so simple. Nothing religious.Just. Yeah. Sat down and ate.Yeah. That's sharing faith. That's it.Now you want to connect it to God. Oh, yeah. It's not that.(4:46 - 4:55)But the fact of the matter is, when you love on people and you're doing it in the name of the Lord, you're moving people closer to Jesus. It's not getting on their knees. You're not preaching to them.(4:55 - 5:06)You're not preaching a sermon to them. You're just loving on them and building trust. Yes.Which is lost today. And then they can hear your words, right? Yes. And we'll see him again.(5:07 - 5:17)And we'll see him again. Yeah. Day by day. Now, you know his name, right? Next time you see him, call out to him. And now you have a relationship. You can't rush it, can you? No, you can't.(5:17 - 5:24)I mean, in some ways, you're in the part where you're probably not going to lead him to the Lord in that moment. That's for sure. You have to build trust and really love on them.(5:25 - 5:32)And that's what you're doing. Yeah, that's powerful. And he made it.That's powerful. Thanks for joining us. Great to talk to you.(5:32 - 5:34)You are. You're a blessing. You know what you're doing.(5:34 - 5:43)Thank you. If you enjoyed today's episode, let us know.
